More Details on the Thunderstruck 2 Game

Thunderstruck 2 pokie game is yet another video pokie with an ancient mythological theme. Like its predecessor, the game is steeped in Norse legend and takes as its setting the mythical world of Asgard. In Thunderstruck 2, Thor and his father, Odin, his brother Loki and a beautiful Valkyrie, guard a variety of rewards and treasures which you must unlock by spinning the pokies reels.

At ICE 2010 in London, Microgaming announced the launch of its sequel, promising improved graphics, better pay-outs and more features.

Pokie Features

Visually, Thunderstruck 2 is indeed an improvement over its predecessor. While the granite-like background and game buttons are fairly understated, it’s the reel symbols that really jump out at you. They’re beautifully drawn and include a variety of Norse symbols including a Viking ship, Thor’s hammer and Asgard itself. It’s a shame that the developers rely on the laughably overused playing card reel symbols. Nevertheless, they too are well designed and look as if they’ve been carved out of stone.

The game itself features five-reels and a generous 243 pay-lines. While you can play with up to 300 coins at once, the small 1000 coin jackpot takes the edge of this to some degree. The pay-table for Thunderstruck 2 is as follows:

The Thunderstruck 2 logo is the Wild symbol and substitutes all other symbols excluding Thor’s Hammer. However, it doesn’t apply to the randomly-triggered Wildstorm feature which can award you with one free spin with up to five reels turning wild. Should you land four wild reels or more, you’ll be well in the money.

2018 Update: Thunderstruck 2 have added a new feature where you can keep track of your pay outs. You can win these “Paytable Achievements” by completing all win ranges for each and every symbol. Each time you “complete” a symbol, you can see the paytable turn to gold. Think of it as a trophy cabinet. It is a proud way to remind you of your successes and show off your achievements.

Bonus Games

The Thunderstruck 2 bonus game, known as the Great Hall of Spins, is triggered by the appearance of three or more bonus hammer icons. There are actually four bonus games in all, of which three can be unlocked if you can trigger the Great Hall of Spins Bonus game a certain number of times.

Each bonus game offers Thunderstruck 2 free spins as well as an extra bonus feature. The bonus games are related to each character and are:

• Valkyrie Bonus Game
• Loki Bonus Game
• Odin Bonus Game
• Thor Bonus Game

The Valkyrie bonus game is permanently unlocked and awards 10 free spins. All wins are multiplied by five during free spins which can be re-triggered by landing three or more Thor Hammers. These are then added to the total number of free spins.

The Loki bonus game can be accessed by activating the Great Hall of Spins game five times and will immediately award you 15 free spins. During this bonus round, if a Wild Magic symbol appears on reel three, as many as 14 regular symbols are substituted for wilds.

The Odin bonus round is triggered when you activate the Great Hall of Spins Bonus 10 times. You’ll be rewarded with 20 free spins and any win will activate the Wild Raven bonus feature; this is where random symbols are converted into wild multipliers. In addition, you’ll be granted a multiplier of up to x6 if the pay-out contains a wild card.

The Thor bonus feature gets unlocked when the Great Hall of Spins Bonus has been triggered at least 15 times and will award you with 25 free spins. All wins activate the potentially lucrative Rolling Reels feature. In this, all symbols explode, leaving icons which award two times the total bet.

Thunderstruck 2 Free Play

Free Thunderstruck 2 pokies can be played on a host of casino websites. They’re a great way of getting a feel for the game and its pay-out frequency. As per the regulations laid down by the UK Gambling Commission, all free pokie games must function in exactly the same way as the real play game. So if you play a Thunderstruck 2 no deposit demo, it should not be deceptive in the theoretical winnings it pays out.

Where Can I Play?

To be fair, you can play Thunderstruck 2 at pretty much any casino with Microgaming pokies. However, we think you’ll like it best playing at Casimba, the roaring lion of a casino. Like Thor, Casimba is a strong, heroic figure. We think that if you like one, then you’ll like the other.

Why Play Thunderstruck 2 Pokie?

Thunderstruck 2 is a solid reboot of a classic video pokie. Although its medium volatility means that the jackpots aren’t going to be all that large, it is possible to land some major wins. The Thunderstruck 2 mobile casino version also runs smoothly and includes all the features found on larger screen resolutions. All-in-all, Thunderstruck 2 is something of an all-rounder.
